To see from the jet-set now, BUY NOW: Pucci will release its first design by new artistic director Camille Misselli in her own boutique, at pucci.com, and with her exclusive retail partner Mytheresa.
The Italian fashion house is inviting a group of journalists and influencers to discover the new collection in Capri on April 29, the same day the first collection will drop online and in stores.
Going forward, Pakki plans to unveil the collections now, the Buy Now calendar, with delivery times in the form of a monthly drop. The company, controlled by French luxury giant LVMH Mot Hennessy Louis Vuitton, is rebooting as a resort-focused brand under Micheli, a veteran creative who was most recently assistant creative director at Louis Vuitton.
Her first collection is dubbed “La Grotta Azura”—named after one of the island’s famous caves with crystalline blue waters—and will hit boutique and e-commerce channels in May, June and July .
The Florentine house has kept Misselli’s earlier designs under wraps, but hinted at a “nomadic, joyful and colorful wardrobe anchored in the Mediterranean”.
Micelli chose to make his initial fashion statement for Pucci in Capri, where founder Emilio Pucci opened his first boutique in Marina Piccola in 1951.
Pucci said, “The collection will be presented in a comprehensive format, inviting people to experience the new laid-back lifestyle through a variety of events, culminating with a party in a villa – 1960-1970 A nod to the Italian jet set of K,” said Pucci. Release provided exclusively to WWD.
Considered one of Italy’s fashion pioneers, Emilio Pucci began designing skiwear from jersey fabric in 1947 and opened his home in 1949. Their colorful, graphic motifs quickly became a signature of the home, and were also strongly associated with summer getaways.
Controlled by LVMH since 2000, Pucci has experimented with a variety of designers over the years, including Julio Espada, Christian Lacroix, Matthew Williamson, Peter Dundas and Massimo Giorgetti of MSGM; studio configuration; A surprise collaboration with guest designer, and even buzzy skate brand Supreme.
The brand recently closed boutiques in major metros and is focusing on resort locations such as Miami, Palm Beach, Fla., Saint-Tropez and Portofino, Italy. It produces ready-to-wear, beachwear, accessories, children’swear and eyewear collections.
Pucci’s weekend in Capri marks the start of a month-long destination fashion shows by brands such as Louis Vuitton, Dior, Gucci and Chanel.
