newton school funding: Newton School secures $25 million in funding led by Steadview Capital

New Delhi: Edtech startup Newton School on Thursday said it has raised $25 million (about Rs 191 crore) in a Series-B funding round led by investment firm Steadview Capital. Steadview Capital’s portfolio includes Indian unicorn Nykaa, Polygon, Zomato and Freshworks.

Existing investors Nexus Venture Partners and RTP Global also participated in the round.

The capital raised will be used to accelerate the company’s growth and expand its team, technology and brand building initiatives, the company said.

Founded in 2019 by IIT batchmates Nishant Chandra and Siddharth Maheshwari, Newton School provides a result-oriented learning experience to freshers and working professionals and enables them to become proficient software developers.

“This fundraising will enable us to build a strong brand and leadership team while investing in innovative technologies like AI to transform education. In just two years, the startup claims to have placed over 1,500 candidates across 600 reputed companies including Google, Lenskart, Razorpay, Flipkart, Zomato, Deloitte, Meesho and Target.

Newton School’s Series-B round comes just a year after RTP Global and Flipkart’s founders raised $5 million in a Series-A round led by Kalyan Krishnamurthy of Flipkart, Kunal Shah of Cred, Girish Mathrubhumi of Freshworks, Sujit Kumar of Udaan and Is. Unacademy and Razorpay.
