Hermès Hired a New Creative Director of Fashion Accessories – Pen 18

WWD has learned that Clémond Bergevin Blachmann, a designer who has focused his attention on everything from handbags and furniture to interior design, has joined Herms as creative director of fashion accessories.

Bergwin Blachman is perhaps best known for his recent stint as Vice President of Design at Calvin Klein Homes. More recently, she was a creative consultant in Alassa, Paris.

A Herms spokesman confirmed Bergwin Blachman’s arrival and title, but declined further comment.

Herms doesn’t recognize its 16-meter creative heads other than women’s ready-to-wear designer Nadge Vanhee-Cybulski and men’s RTW designer Véronic Nichanian.

Pierre-Alexis Dumas is the general artistic director of Herms.

To be sure, Bergwin Blachmann has joined a luxury home that is seeing impressively strong momentum. RTW and accessories sales grew 58.8 percent to EUR 2.22 billion in 2021, an increase of 44.3 percent compared to 2019. This business line includes RTWs, belts, costume jewelry, gloves, hats and shoes for men and women.

The daughter of antique dealers, Bergwin Blochmann has had an unconventional fashion career, doing art direction and copywriting at Chanel, later joining an advertising agency whose clients include Galeries Lafayette and Petit Bateau, and Paris He operates a vintage jewelry boutique. A source familiar with his career.

Canadian developer Oakridge recently tapped Bergwin Blachman to design the interiors for a 17-story residential tower in Vancouver.
