gehlot: Rajasthan communal clashes: CM Ashok Gehlot says PM Modi should appeal to people to shun polarisation

A day after communal clashes broke out in Rajasthan’s Karauli district, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday alleged that an atmosphere of religious polarization has been created in the country after the BJP-led NDA came to power at the Center and asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Needed. Appealed to the people to remove this unfair division. He said that peace, brotherhood and harmony are necessary for development.

Looking at the atmosphere created in the country after the NDA government came to power, I believe that the Prime Minister himself should appeal to the people of the country that there is no polarization in the name of religion and caste. It is appropriate and not in the interest of the country.”

“Unfortunately, yesterday the incident happened in Karauli and even today, in Beawar there was a fight over a small issue and one person died. If the religions (of the persons involved) are different, then in the name of religion people polarize and Make it an issue,” he told reporters in Barmer.

Gehlot also hit out at the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, saying a fake encounter took place there.

He said that it is easy to do fake encounters but the country will progress if the rule of law is maintained.

“Only then there will be justice,” he said.

On the Karauli violence, Gehlot said that he was worried since Saturday evening when he came to know about the incident.

He said, ‘I have directed the DGP that strict action should be taken against all the people involved in this matter, irrespective of community or religion. The message should go to them that the rule of law will be established in Rajasthan, it is mine. Faith.”

According to police, incidents of arson and vandalism were reported on Saturday at a motorcycle rally taken out to celebrate the Hindu New Year when it was passing through a Muslim-dominated area. At least 35 people were injured in the violence.

The Chief Minister said that inflation and unemployment are the major challenges of today.

Targeting the Center over inflation and rising fuel prices, he said that such a big fraud has never happened in the country.

He said that during the elections in five states, the prices were not increased and now the fuel prices have started increasing.

“The people of the country should understand its governance model,” he said.
