The Wu-Tang Clan is asking Fortnite players to “Protect Ya Neck” as the latest entrants to the battle royale game.
Fortnite developer Epic Games is bringing the hip-hop group’s Woo Wear line to Fortnite on Saturday as part of its commitment to bringing musical experiences to its players. Fortnite hosted concerts with rapper Travis Scott in 2020 and singer Ariana Grande in 2021, and last year also added reggaeton artists Jay Balvin and DJ Marshmello to its Icon series.
Wu-Tang items include Throwback BG and Bright outfits available individually or in a Wu Wear bundle with additional hands emoticons, boom box spray, loading screens, and banners. The developers also created back bling and a pickaxe for the collection that reacts to the music.
In addition, Wu-Tang produced collaborative apparel with Fortnite to launch on the website of the Wu-Tang Clan store on Saturday.
“Fortnite has been in my house for years,” said RZA, a founding member of the Wu-Tang Clan. “It is a pleasure and a pleasure to watch the sport grow while it has become a recreational pastime. This collaboration is a multi-generational ‘drip’ of Swag and Cool. If what you say is true, Fortnite and Wutang can be Fortangerous. ,
RZA is one of the nine original members of New York City, along with GZA, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, You-God, Inspecta Deck, Musta Killa, and Method Man. The group is responsible for platinum records of the 90s such as “Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)” and “Wu-Tang Forever”.
Before adding Wu-Tang Clan products to the game, Epic Games introduced LeBron James and Naomi Osaka to Fortnite.
