Members of Parliament on Monday said the Lok Sabha is expected to discuss rising fuel prices and the Russia-Ukraine conflict after the Centre’s concurrence. He said the government has agreed to the opposition’s demand to discuss Ukraine war and rising prices in the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) chaired by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
The MPs present in the meeting said that both the subjects will be discussed under Rule 193 of the Lok Sabha, in which voting is not done.
While the Ukraine crisis will be discussed this week, the issue of rising prices will come up next week, a member of parliament (MP) said, adding that the exact date and time has not been decided.
Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said they proposed to discuss two issues in the BAC meeting and the government agreed to the demand.
