bjp: Hurting faith of Hindus is secularism of Congress: BJP hits out at Congress for demolishing temple

The BJP on Friday hit out at the Congress for demolishing a 300-year-old Shiva temple in Rajasthan, saying it was the oldest party’s secularism to hurt the faith of Hindus.

BJP’s National Information and Technology Department in-charge Amit Malviya said that shedding tears on Karauli and Jahangirpuri and hurting the faith of Hindus is the secularism of Congress.

Malviya tweeted, “In the name of development, 300 years old Shiva temple in Alwar, Rajasthan was demolished. Shedding tears on Karauli and Jahangirpuri and hurting the faith of Hindus is the secularism of Congress.”

Malviya said that on April 18, the administration bulldozers on the property of 85 Hindus without giving any notice.

“On April 18 in Rajgarh town of Rajasthan, the administration bulldozers on pucca houses and shops of 85 Hindus without any notice. Compared to Jahangirpuri. Are they selectively shedding tears and calling the campaign anti-minority, admit it. Doing that the Muslims are both trespassers and rioters,” Malviya said.

The two sides clashed after the North Delhi Municipal Corporation operated bulldozers to demolish illegal constructions and encroachments in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri following communal clashes during Hanuman Jayanti processions last week.

The Congress accused the Center of undermining constitutional authorities as it failed to promptly comply with the status quo order of the Supreme Court on the demolition drive.

Terming it a subversion of constitutional values, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi shared a picture of the Preamble, which is under threat from a bulldozer.

Earlier Congress leaders had termed it as shameless contempt and a very dangerous example of defiance by the civic agency and Delhi Police.
