New Delhi: Actor Ajay Devgn has spent over 30 years working in the film industry and feels it is his responsibility to clear misconceptions about his workplace. The actor is all set with his next film – runway 34 It also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Rakul Preet Singh in important roles. Ajay Has worked in the industry as an actor, producer and director. He started working in films with his father, the famous action-choreographer Veeru Devgan and edited action sequences for him at the age of 11. The actor says he started working very early in his life as he knew it was his calling and he always loved trying new things – be it technical or creative. For Ajay, Bollywood is like any other industry which reflects the society we live in. Ajay Devgn talks about people’s perception about Bollywood: He feels it is not a good place
When asked what he has seen working in the industry for the last 30 years, Ajay said that he has seen people thinking that the industry is not a good place. He said, ‘My personal experience has been very good. But, I have noticed that people have a very strange perception about the industry. They don’t think Bollywood is a good place to live or work. There are good and bad people in every industry. There are all kinds of people in the society and Bollywood is also a part of that society. Now, if someone has done something wrong in the sector, it does not mean that the entire industry is bad. Sometimes, people who don’t know the industry closely make that impression and sometimes, people within the industry make that unpleasant impression for others. We have lovely people in the industry. Ajay also talked about being a director and how his experience while growing up helped him make a film. When asked if being an actor helps him in directing, he said, “I don’t know about it, but since I have been in this industry for the last 30 years, experience counts. I have spent all these years.” I’ve worked with so many people – both talented and people who aren’t so talented. I’ve seen all kinds of work. And I’ve been doing it since I was a kid – from helping to making films ‘From editing to handling the camera… I think that’s a big advantage.”
